Man obsessed with Katrina Kaif arrested for sending death threats to actor, husband Vicky Kaushal

Bollywood actors Katrina Kaif and Vicky Kaushal tied the knot over half a year ago but it looks like not everyone made peace with that. The couple allegedly received death threats from a man obsessed with Kaif and they had to contact the police, leading to the stalker’s arrest.

According to the Times Of India, the ‘fan’ was remanded into police custody till July 28 by a Mumbai court on Tuesday. His identity was also made public — he is a small-time actor named Manvinder Singh who was obsessed with Kaif and wanted to marry her. He had been stalking and harassing the Bang Bang actor online for months. Singh even posted photoshopped pictures with her. When he turned dangerous, Kaushal filed a police complaint saying he had threatened their lives on Instagram.

The Santacruz police registered an FIR against the unidentified person on Monday under Indian Penal Code sections 506-II (criminal intimidation) and 354-D (stalking), an official said, according to Pinkvilla. The police arrested Singh from Mumbai’s Malad area the same day and produced him before a court on Tuesday.

Kaif will soon be starring in Phone Bhoot alongside Siddhant Chaturvedi and Ishaan Khatter. She also has films Merry Christmas and Tiger 3 coming up whilst Kaushal will be seen in Govinda Naam Mera this year.
