Malaika Arora resurfaces online a week after car accident to thank well-wishers for all the love
Indian actor and model Malaika Arora resurfaced on Instagram a week after a car accident and opened up about her "road to recovery." She thanked her family, friends, medical staff and fans for extending so much love, calling them her "guardian angels."
According to the Hindustan Times, the Dil Se actor was in "a pile-up between three vehicles" in Mumbai on April 2. On her way back from a fashion show, her Range Rover was "crushed between two touris" and she sustained "minor injuries" from the accident.
The Dabangg actor shared a photo of herself (part silhouette looking out the window) and talked about how last week's events felt unreal when she looked back. "The last few days and the events that unfolded have been quite unbelievable. Thinking about it in retrospect feels like a scene from a film and not something that actually happened."
She expressed gratitude for the immediate protection and feeling of safety she was provided by her loved ones and the hospital staff. "Immediately after the accident, I felt like I was enveloped with the care from so many guardian angels — be it my staff, the people who helped me reach the hospital, my family who stood by me throughout this ordeal and the amazing hospital staff. My doctors ensured my safety in the most caring way possible at every step. They made me feel safe and secure instantly and I am so very grateful for that."
Arora gave a shoutout to her friends and "insta fam" for all of their "love" that provided her with so much reassurance. "Moments like these are not epiphanies but strong reminders that we must always offer gratitude to those — known and unknown — who shower you with love and good wishes at a time you need it the most," she added.
The model ended the note with one final thanks for her followers. "A big heartfelt thank you to each and everyone of you for being there making sure I come out of this with renewed vigour." Arora said she's on her "road to recovery" and assured fans that she's a fighter and will be "back before you know it!"
Arora is a fitness enthusiast currently in a relationship with Arjun Kapoor. She was married to Arbaaz Khan for 17 years — the couple wed in December 1998 and officially divorced in May 2017. They have a 17-year-old son together named Arhaan Khan.
