Pakistani Twitter users jump to Babar Azam's defence, say he's carrying the Karachi Kings

The Karachi Kings have not been having the best time in this year's PSL — after three consecutive losses, the fourth game came with the added pressure to perform well but after encountering another loss, critics have gained leverage. Captain Babar Azam is facing backlash for not playing well after the loss against Peshawar Zalmi but Azam fans are quick to jump to his defence and claim that a captain can't do it all alone. They said he's been carrying the team on his own and that's certainly not one man's responsibility.

Pakistani Twitter is overflowing with the Azam debate and it's safe to say the Azam fans outnumber the Azam critics.

It started out light with memes claiming Azam is doing all the work.

Someone even advised Azam to leave the Karachi Kings for his mental health.

Some realisations were added to the mix.

But then it quickly escalated into a serious debate and netizens pulled out the stats to prove Azam singlehandedly scored more than the rest of the team.

Fans fought for him, saying he's only human and one man cannot possible do everything without the right partnership and effort from his teammates.

This user said the team wouldn't have made three figures without Azam.

Netizens think Azam was given the wrong team.

They are not okay with all the responsibility and blame falling on his shoulders alone.

Users are calling him a "lone warrior," saying the Kings have no one except Azam.

Does Azam deserve the criticism he's receiving or is he being held accountable unjustly? What do you think?
