Ahad Raza Mir and Sajal Aly are cross-border lovers in their upcoming series Dhoop Ki Deewar

Calling all #Sahad fans, we've got some good news for you! Everyone's favourite couple, Ahad Raza Mir and Sajal Aly, are going to be sharing a screen together for the first time since getting married.

They are going to be playing cross-border lovers in upcoming serial Dhoop Ki Deewar which will air on Zee5.

The show aims to highlight the unknown reality of families who have suffered the loss of a loved one due to war. It is a cross-border tale of love, family and loss, which is the same in any part of the world.

"Vishal from India and Sara from Pakistan find their lives interconnected when they lose their fathers in war and their common grief becomes a foundation of their friendship. The impact of martyrdom on these two families and how they realise that peace is the only answer is what the web series explores," revealed director Haseeb Hassan in a conversation with Images.

"In an instant, I was convinced that this is a very relevant story to be told because we all look at winning wars but no one imagines the social effects of war and hatred. The entire journey of shooting the show has been nothing less than bliss," he said, adding that Ahad, Sajal and writer Umera Ahmed made a show that would "touch the hearts of audiences".

Given the tensions between the two countries, Hassan believed that art is not limited by borders.

"Cultural exchange across borders should not be interrupted because we believe that good stories have a global resonance, and everyone who works with Zindagi is aligned to this belief," he said. "I think it is important to appreciate and encourage good content and talent, irrespective of physical boundaries and Zindagi is doing a commendable job at this."
