Irrfan Khan's Song of Scorpions is gearing up for release

Late legendary actor Irrfan Khan, known for his long list of iconic films, is here to steal audience's hearts in what will be his final film to see the light of day, after his unfortunate demise.

Written and directed by Anup Singh, the film revolves around the story of twisted love, revenge and the redemptive power of a song, co-starring Golshifteh Farahani, Waheeda Rehman and Shashank Arora, alongside Khan.

As depicted in the trailer, Nooran, carefree and defiantly independent, is a tribal woman learning the ancient art of healing from her grandmother who is a revered scorpion singer.

When Aadam (Irrfan), a camel trader in the Rajasthan desert, hears her sing, he falls desperately in love.

But even before they can get to know each other better, Nooran is poisoned by a treachery that sets her on a perilous journey to avenge herself and find her song.

According to the Indian Express, talking about the release of The Song of Scorpions, Abhishek Pathak, producer and director at Panorama Spotlight, said in a statement, "The Song of Scorpions is a special story, and it is truly an honour for us to present Irrfan Khan’s final performance in it."

"We will be offering this film to the audiences as a tribute to the beloved star of Indian cinema. The era of cinema in India and abroad has benefitted from his acting prowess and we’re happy to have canvased his swansong.”

Irrfan Khan was last seen in Angrezi Medium, which released in March this year.

He passed away in Mumbai in April 2020 after battling medical complications arising from a colon infection. He was 54 and is survived by his wife, Sutapa Sikdar and two sons, Babil and Ayan.
