Meesha Shafi is returning to Coke Studio after 10 years and plans to 'paint a musical rainbow'
November's been good for music — first we got some new tunes through the Bilal Maqsood-produced Velo Sound Station and now rumour has it that the new season of Rohail Hyatt's Coke Studio could be out by the end of this month or early December.
There's one artist who music enthusiasts are looking forward to seeing on both platforms and that's Meesha Shafi.
The artist has announced her return to Coke Studio after TEN years.
"If you love what I do, December is about to be a month of gifts and treats for you," Meesha shared on social media. "I am delighted to announce that Rohail Hyatt and I have reunited after a decade of Jugni, Chori Chori, Dhashte Tanhai and Ishq Aap Bhi Awalla [...] on the same platform that changed my life and the face of Pakistani music across the globe, forever."
Following the outpour of excitement on her taking to the Coke Studio stage, Meesha said she was "feeling incredibly grateful at the overwhelming messages and tags of love and excitement".
"It’s been such a beautiful and mutually beneficial connection. I couldn’t have asked for a better gift from the universe for my birthday month."
"Music is my ultimate passion, and sharing it with the world, my purpose in life," she shared. "I’m about to paint a musical rainbow for you all. Blessed to be able to share my gifts."
She also retweeted a fan video featuring clips of some of her Coke Studio performances.
