Naumaan Ijaz made a 'joke' about infidelity but Twitter had the last laugh

If you follow Naumaan Ijaz on Instagram, you know he loves to dish out advice.

So when he appeared on Iffat Omar's talk show, naturally she couldn't resist asking him for some: what is the secret to a successful marriage?

In a resurfaced clip from a year ago, Ijaz, who has been married for 25 years, says, "We're sustaining it as a relationship, keeping in mind our limitations. Secondly, if I were to talk about my wife, Rabia, I'm very lucky. She's adorable."

Iffat then asks, "But have you ever slipped up? Have you ever fallen in love for one day?"

"Every moment. That happens daily. I love beautiful women who are hard to get. So I fall in love with them even more. And she doesn't find out. I'm such a great actor and an intelligent man that my wife, thank God, never finds out," he replies smugly, even though he was just talking about limits before this.

After boasting (joking?) about cheating, Ijaz also went on to discredit the #MeToo movement, saying it's a "dangerous" trend that will be misused and weaponised and is a result of "deen se doori" (estrangement from spirituality/religion).

You're not alone if you're struggling to understand how people speaking up against sexual harassment and assault is 'deen se doori' but not, you know, cheating on your spouse.

Twitter is as confused as we are

Assuming it was a joke, let's be clear that it was in bad taste.

And you know if the tables were turned...

The show's called Say It All with Iffat Omar but maybe Ijaz shouldn't have
