She became a Goodwill ambassador for UNHCR

Th actor was appointed a Goodwill Ambassador by the UNHCR in November. She joined the UN Refugee Agency and is now using her new position to speak up for the cause.

She recently took part in an international campaign joined by Hollywood icons such as Ben Stiller, Riz Ahmed, Cate Blanchett and Neil Gaiman among others.

She represented Pakistan at Paris Fashion Week

Mahira became L'Oreal Pakistan's brand ambassador last year and even made an appearance in Cannes 2018. This year, she attended the prestigious Paris Fashion Week where she strutted the ramp for L'Oreal's collaboration with Karl Lagerfeld.

She also had us living vicariously through her updates as she partied with Helen Mirren, chilled with Camila Cabello and Olivia Culpo and danced with Daniella Rahme in front of the Eiffel Tower.

When Firdous Jamal made an inappropriate comment about Mahira's age, claiming she should play mothers, she made sure to remind everyone that not only has she already played a mother in the iconic Humsafar, but she plans on "staying in the industry till I'm playing a grandmother and even a great grandmother and I actually look forward to that."

She joined the first ever National Youth Council

Prime Minister Imran Khan formally approved the launch of 33-member National Youth Council (NYC) in July. The council was formed for uplift of the youth of the country. When he made sure the team included prominent figures from various fields, you know that means Mahira!

Khan became the first Pakistani celebrity to hit 5 million Instagram followers

Mahira Khan is the first Pakistani celeb to reach 5 million followers on Instagram.

She’s closely followed by Aiman Khan who was the second celeb to do so while Sajal Aly and Minal Khan are also just shy of the 5 million mark.
