Patari leadership resigns as the company "loses sight of its values"

Patari plunges lower as it loses six of its employees.

Ahmer Naqvi, who was appointed interim CEO after the then cofounder Khalid Bajwa was asked to step down following sexual misconduct allegations, has resigned. And so have his fellow colleagues.

He shared their ordeal of working at Patari since the allegations surfaced and claimed that, "it is a company where we can no longer work freely under the values that brought us to it – and which are now under threat."

The statement also read that the company's co-founders Bajwa, Faisal Sherjan and Humayun Haroon "violated the company’s governance," and that Bajwa continued to represent Patari.

"It felt clear to us that while Patari, which had always sought as on organisation to champion progressive ideals to the world, the co-founders were refusing to apply the same values to one of their own."

And in doing so, the party felt that "in the company’s current environment we believed there was no room for us, our values, or our work."

Patari has responded to its former six employees refuting their claims that Bajwa had been reinstated as Patari's CEO.

Monday morning, the music platform released another statement declaring their newest interim CEO Rabeel Warraich and that Bajwa has been removed as Board member.

It further said that "Patari has zero tolerance for abuse of power, sexual harassment and for creation of toxic culture," and that allegations made by the leadership will be rectified.

Earlier this year, sexual harassment allegations against Patari cofounder and CEO Khalid Bajwa surfaced on social media. A number of women alleged on social media that he had made unwanted advances towards them. Subsequently, Bajwa was asked to "step down from his post with immediate effect," while investigations were underway.
