Mahira Khan and Sheheryar Munawar make magic in 7 Din Mohabbat In's trailer

You knew that upcoming Mahira Khan-starrer 7 Din Mohabbat In was going to be a rom-com... but judging by its trailer, it's going to be so much more.

The actor told Images right before the trailer launch that she was "nervous and excited to watch the trailer with everyone."

"I wanted to do comedy for a long time and I didn't need much convincing," she said about signing the film.

Also starring Sheheryar Munawar and directed by Meenu Gaur and Farjad Nabi of Zinda Bhaag fame, 7 Din Mohabbat In's trailer was revealed last night and it left us spellbound.

No seriously, it did, because Javed Sheikh plays a jinn who casts a spell on main character Tipu, leaving Tipu's fate in the hands of love itself.

"When they told me my role is of a jinn, I got scared and said I can't do this role because I had a conventional jinn in mind. When they narrated the character to me, it was nothing like I had thought," said Javed Sheikh of playing the role of a spirit for the first time in his life.

The trailer gives us a glimpse of Amna Ilyas and Mira Sethi as Tipu's possible love interests as well as a dance sequence by Rimel Ali.

"All the women, at one point in their lives, want to kill men, whether it's their husband or boyfriend and my character in the film hates Tipu. This role was very challenging for me because in real life I actually really like men," said Amna as the cinema hall echoed with laughter.

Rimel, who will be seen in a dance sequence in the film, also shared that she had to do 19 hour shifts.

"It took 15 days, to practice off-set, I had blisters on my feet." She explains that it was rushed because "We had to finish the sequence on time, we had a deadline."

Rimel was also grateful for the opportunity to work on the film alongside big stars. "I'm sitting among Mahira Khan, Javed Sheikh, and I'm sitting here on this platform from my community, it's a big achievement in Pakistan. I feel we talk about gender equality but we never do anything about it. [On-screen], we're always given roles in which we're mocked or made fun of, but the role I was given I really enjoyed it and it was done very sensitively."

Sheheryar Munawar wasn't sure if he'd be "able to hold his own in the film." He said, "Pre-Tipu was hard to get into. We worked really hard; the directors and I. It was physically draining; adopting the slouch, I still have a backache because of that."

He tells us that the first thing he did after the shoot was shave his hair off. "I wanted to get Tipu out of my system."

By the end of the trailer the question is -- will Tipu find sacha pyaar and manage to win his deal with the jinn? Or perhaps he'll find another way to redeem himself?
