I rejected Sultan because the film didn't offer me much, says Kangana Ranaut

The Queen has spoken.

Kangana Ranaut, who has fought to make a name for herself in Bollywood, doesn't need a Khan to make her mark in the film industry and she has proven that with films like Queen and her latest project Simran.

When asked why she rejected the Salman Khan starrer, the actor said, "For Sultan, at the time, it was a great character for a girl to take up, but I did not see anything for myself."

"Coming from a double role space (after Tanu Weds Manu), and doing so much more in my earlier films, I thought why should I demote myself to something that is not offering me so much. That's why I didn't do it (Sultan)," she added.

The role was then offered to Anushka Sharma, who like Kangana doesn't belong to the Bolly fraternity, but has had the rare opportunity to work with all the Khans in the industry.

Instead, Kangana argues that she needs a script worth her time. "Knowing today's time, I am going to do something that stimulates my mind, because otherwise I am just going to be sleep walking through the film."
