8 outfits from FPW Day 1 that looked like other things

Designers put their best sartorial foot forward each Fashion Week, seeking inspiration from nature, from history... and from common household items, it seems.

Like a feather duster, or a PVC hose.

Needless to say, Fashion Pakistan Week Day 1 last night delivered on this exact note — clothes that looked like things, even a fictional character.

Here are 8 designs that look like things other than their intended purpose:

1) Feather duster by Sobia Nazir:

An outfit to make him think you're fashionable AND domesticated. Instant win.

Talk about subliminal messaging.

2) PVC pipe by HSY:

When you've worked hard for your toned legs but end up wearing pants which look like a PVC pipe. On the plus side, they're umm... functional.

Or we could be wrong and the inspiration behind this creation could be a pug.

3) Darth Sidious by HSY:

This was a tie between Assassin's Creed and Darth Sidious, but of course, our favourite villain won, only because that hoodie is too reminiscent of the latter.

Don't agree with us? "Come, boy, see for yourself. From here, you will witness the final destruction of the Alliance and the end of your insignificant rebellion."

The resemblance is uncanny.

4) HSY by well, HSY:

This bag spotted on the ramp looked oddly like the designer/talk show host.

Oh, wait a second...

Designer inception perhaps?

5) Table tennis net by Mona Imran:

Or one of those barbed wire fences with the no trespassing signs. If only she [designer Mona Imran] had seen the sign and not walked into this sleeve territory...

Works for when you want to wear sleeves but also want people to know you haven't been skipping arm day at the gym

6) Neck pillow by Sobia Nazir:

Who says style and comfort can't go hand in hand? The perfect way to get a wink of sleep while at a boring event!

Soft, feathery and plush, the ideal neck pillow.

7) Peshawari chappal by Sobia Nazir:

Shoe away (hehe geddit geddit?) the haters who say your chappals can't double as clothing.

They, like Jon Snow, know nothing!

We wonder if Imran Khan will jump onto the bandwagon, we all know he loves them Peshawari chappals

8) Hand sanitiser dispenser by Amir Adnan:

Here's brother Shahzad Noor giving clean intentions a whole new meaning.

While some carry it in their bags, others wear it on their heads.
