Hijrat's release pushed to January 21

A love story that marks the film debut of model Rabia Butt, Hijrat is now set to release on January 21. The director/producer Farooq Mengal had earlier said that the film will release on December 31.

However, owing to the release of Asim Raza's Ho Mann Jahaan on January 1, Mengal decided to push ahead his film's release to avoid a clash with the film in the box office.

"Pakistani films are seeing a revival and we are also being supported by the public," said director Mengal, as he spoke about the film's delayed release. "As release timings are crucial to a film's success, I feel that all Pakistani films should be given the space to do well. And so I feel that all producers should support each other by spacing out our releases."

While we wait for the film's release, the producers tease the idea of a love triangle in a new poster:

The film, which stars Rabia Butt, Asad Zaman, Rubab Ali, Nadeem Baig, Ayub Khoso and features Sana in an item number, is set against the backdrop of the Afghan refugee crisis.

Hijrat's trailer is expected to release on December 17.
