Sapphire's first anniversary sale causes a frenzy...and a catfight

When pret retailer Sapphire announced a flat 50%-off sale in honour of their first year anniversary, women were understandably excited.

Sapphire hosts a range of products which includes stitched day wear and unstitched printed fabric for women, scarves, jewellery, among other things.

Come Friday, hordes of women descended on the outlets in Lahore, Islamabad and Karachi.

In Lahore, people were waiting outside the store hours before the doors opened.

The brains behind the brand, Khadija Shah tweeted this picture, among others, of the crowds outside the Lahore store

If history is any indication, we should have expected a scuffle to break out, keeping Sana Safinaz lawn exhibitions and the recent Balmain x H&M collection launch in mind.

A video surfaced soon after of a group of shoppers at the Lahore flagship store shoving and yelling at each other, until security intervenes.

Lesson learnt: don't come between a lawn queen and that last medium-sized on sale kurti.

Women who are not big on shopping or were stuck at work and couldn't make it to the sale in time are now thanking their lucky stars.

Before Karachites start gloating, it's looking like the calm before the storm at Dolmen Mall too.

We know it's hard to resist such a bargain but remember to stay safe, people!
