Sajal Ali's style evolution: From girl-next-door to high fashion diva

Ever since Sajal Ali appeared on television screens in 2011, she became an instant favourite: the men wanted to marry her, the ladies wanted to befriend her, the mothers wanted her as a daughter-in-law.

With her classic 'deer in the headlights' look that was perfect for playing the "baechari" roles on television, coupled with impressive acting chops, Sajal had a smooth climb to success. Still, the one thing we couldn't praise the girl for is possessing impeccable style. But that's all starting to change.

Did you think sweet Sajal couldn't look sexy? Think again!

Looking like a modern day fashionable Elsa from Frozen, this recent shot that's trending on Instagram has people talking.

Enter Akif Ilyas and Ali transforms into a vampy vixen.

That said, her style is versatile. Dubai based stylist Rao Ali Khan put together this romantic look for the Hum Awards 2015 red carpet, which the Chup Raho leading lady pulled off with grace.

Khan, who is dolling up Sajal for her upcoming movie with Feroze Khan, said to Images, "I usually give her structured clothes, fuller sleeves since she is very petite. Keeping it simple and classy but nice cuts. Lots of crop tops with flappers and plaided skirts. Since she has beautiful features and big eyes, we let the attention be on the face."

We take a walk down style street, looking at some more of her shining moments:

Monochrome is always a safe bet, especially when it's paired with a ruby lip.

How adorable are these tribal print slip-ons?

Remember how we said the shalwar is making a comeback? Well, Sajal has known it for months.

Not fans of the big hair but fans of peplum for sure!

The tabula rasa of outfits: an all-white ensemble looks poised and elegant, giving you room to play with accessories.

She clearly loves her basic white tee.
