They say the grass is always greener on the other side and while we love Karachi designers, there's something about a few Lahore-based designers that we can't get over. Unfortunately, these designers are based solely out of Lahore and we can't go browse through their studios (websites don't count!) and try on their clothes unless we hop on a plane.

Fashion shouldn't have borders, especially provincial ones, so here's a list of designers from Lahore who we'd love to see open shops in Karachi.

Hussain Rehar

No list would be complete without our perennial favourite, Hussain Rehar. His designs are sleek, simple and bold, and prove that you don't need to be covered top to toe in bling to make a statement.

Zuria Dor

Focusing heavily on cuts with less embroidery and work than the usual wedding-wear design house, Zuria Dor is on our list for its adherence to the adage less is more.

Suffuse by Sana Yasir

Sometimes, you want bling in your life. It's a woman's prerogative to change her mind, and we have to say, while we love minimalism, we also love beautiful embroidery and designs and that's what we see in Suffuse by Sana Yasir.

Faraz Manan

We can't talk about bling without mentioning the king of bling, Faraz Manan. Oh what us Karachiites would do to have a Faraz Manan store in our city — not that we could afford his designs, but still.

Kamiar Rokni

Kamiar Rokni — need we say more? We shouldn't have to tell you how much we adore the colours, cuts and embroidery that Kamiar Rokni brings to the table, but we will anyway. There's something very special about his designs.
