Ali Zafar made his Bollywood debut in 2010; seven films later, the Pakistani singer has finally signed a local production.

Speaking to Images, director Ahsan Rahim explains why he cast the rockstar in his upcoming project.

"He fits the character like a hand in a glove," he says. "It's always a pleasure working with Ali Zafar and he loves the script and we are on the same wavelength."

The film, which is yet to be titled, will be an action comedy, leaning more towards action and will be shot in Pakistan and abroad.

It's still in the early stages as the casting has not been completely finalised. Rahim hopes to get a few more actors on board before the film goes on the floors.

Ali Zafar was last seen on the big screen in Tere Bin Laden: Dead or Alive, which was a sequel to his Bolly debut Tere Bin Laden. His latest project across the border is Shah Rukh Khan, Alia Bhatt-starrer, Dear Zindagi.
