Is Dishoom banned in Pakistan?

Varun Dhawan is definitely upset about it!
Updated 01 Aug, 2016

The loaded-with-masala flick Dishoom has been getting positive responses!

The film was supposed to be released worldwide yesterday but hasn't been released in Pakistan yet. Could it be that this John Abraham and Varun Dhawan starrer is getting banned here?

Varun Dhawan certainly thinks so! The Dilwale actor tweeted about his disappointment over the film being banned in Pakistan.

According to Indian Express, Varun has pointed out that Dishoom has nothing against Pakistan. Earlier the actor had said “It is a very positive representation. In fact, what we are trying to show is that for certain people money is their religion. It’s not being an Indian, Pakistani, Hindu, Muslim or Christian. In the capitalistic world that we live in, money is the biggest driving force for most crimes.”

However, a representative of the censor board had a word with Images and clarified that Dishoom has not been banned... yet. "It was supposed to be released yesterday, we are just holding off the release for now. The situation is uncertain but we haven't initiated a ban as of yet."

Dishoom shows the two leads attempting to kidnap an Indian cricketer before an India-Pakistan cricket match.

Well,I saw the movie. There is nothing against Pakistan government or its people. I don't want to reveal anything about movie, but Pakistan is mentioned in context of cricket rivalry only. At one point I thought there was connection between fanatic person and terrorist nation image of Pakistan ,but it was completely different.

Entertainment should be controlled as in the guise of entertainment, countries and lobbies and companies promote their agenda and pollute gullible minds. Its like have corrupt teachers vs. Good Teachers. Indian movies - majority - are mass produced cheap entertainment and far from real life and devoid of good morals.

Bad decision.Movie doesnt portray anything bad about Pakistan at any level. But movie is pathetic so Pakistani audience is spared from this one..Could have been a good movie if theme was well executed.

@Jonaid Malik If so why people in Pakistan big fan of Indian movies and star? Why your celebrities come to India and work in Bollywood. Even their working into India must also ban. Zindagi channel must not air any Pakistan serials any which ways they are boring looks it takes ages to understand every character and understand their roles. Their serials do not provide any novelty.

Indian movies are not earning anything from Pakistan cinema. Not releasing Bollywood movies will not affect India. Bollywood earn most from Indian audience worldwide.
