Aamina Sheikh is counting her blessings and thanking God for life’s highs and lows
Actor Aamina Sheikh took to Instagram on Thursday to share a heartfelt reflection on her life’s journey, expressing profound gratitude for both the highs and lows she has encountered.
Sheikh wrote a moving caption to celebrate her birthday paired with some adorable pictures of her with balloons. She began her message by thanking God for everything life has brought her way, acknowledging how even the darkest moments have shaped her into who she is today.
“Alhamdulillah for everything that life brought my way,” she wrote. “It gives me goosebumps and makes me teary when I look back and see how undoubtedly a source greater than me kept my head above the water in my darkest times, gave me strength that I didn’t even know I had, gave me clear foresight at a time when everything around me became foggy and blurry.”
Sheikh acknowledged that while life’s challenges might seem a lot at the time, they often lead to unimaginable growth and beauty. She quoted verse 8:30 from the Holy Quran, which translates to “And they plan, and Allah plans. And Allah is the best of planners.”
In her note, Sheikh also reflected on the simplicity and abundance of life, highlighting that having faith, love, and clarity of purpose in such challenging times is nothing short of a miracle. “Life is simple, love is abundant, faith is intact, will is stronger, the purpose is clear. Considering the horrific times that we are living in, having all this is nothing short of a miracle,” she expressed.
Concluding her post with a Martin Luther King Jr quote, Sheikh asked for divine guidance to use her talents and experiences for a greater purpose. “Use me, God. Show me further, how to take who I am, who I want to be, and what I can do, and use it for a purpose greater than myself.”
In addition to her acting prowess, Sheikh is also known for her devotion to her family. She is a mother to two children, including her daughter Meisah, whom she shares with her former husband, actor Mohib Mirza. She also has a son from her second marriage.
She spoke about her deep commitment to her family in a recent appearance on MOMKAST.
During the podcast, she described the challenging yet rewarding experience of balancing her career with raising a daughter. Reflecting on her early acting days after becoming a mother, Sheikh revealed how she would often bring her baby to work, managing both feeding and filming simultaneously.
She also spoke about the tough decision she faced: choosing between continuing her career or spending more time with her child. Ultimately, Sheikh chose the latter.
