Official trailer for Marvel’s Black Panther: Wakanda Forever reveals an all new Black Panther
The sequel to Marvel’s Black Panther remains one of the most anticipated projects of the year and has been since the first film was released in 2018. It made waves for being unique but also because of Chadwick Boseman who played the character of Black Panther. However, after Boseman passed away in 2020, fans were left uncertain about the sequel and the future of the Black Panther. A new trailer for the film reveals that Black Panther: Wakanda Forever focuses on the characters of Wakanda, new challenges and a new Black Panther played by a woman.
On Monday, Marvel revealed the official trailer that saw the citizens of Wakanda pay homage to Boseman’s Panther briefly before a new set of challenges arrive at their doorstep. According to GQ, the new Black Panther is going to be Letitia Wright’s Shuri, the princess of Wakanda and younger sister of Boseman’s T’Challa.
The trailer also gives us a closer look at Tenoch Huerta’s Namor who appears to be one of main points of conflict in Marvel’s new film. Lupita Nyong’o, Danai Gurira, Florence Kasumba, Martin Freeman, Wright, Winston Duke, and Angela Bassett will reprise their roles from previous MCU entries.
Ryan Coogler, the director of first film, helmed the sequel as well. However, Daniel Kaluuya, who played W’Kabi, a prominent character in the first instalment, will not be returning.
Considering how big his role was, it will be interesting to see how his absence will be shown in the second film because he was married to Gurira’s Okoye, the head of Wakanda’s armed forces.
Black Panther: Wakanda Forever will be available to watch in theatres on November 11 this year.
