Shaniera Akram doesn’t agree with Noor Bukhari on Humayun Saeed being too old to play a romantic hero

Noor Bukhari loved the film London Nahi Jaunga — except for the part where Humayun Saeed was assigned a romantic role. She didn’t seem to think it was age-appropriate for him to play the romantic hero because love is for youngsters only, apparently. Shaniera Akram disagreed and said in her experience, that is not true.

On Wednesday, the activist re-shared Bukhari’s comments on her Instagram story and wrote, “I don’t know about this. From my experience, I think many incredible love stories happen a lot in the second half of life.” She said the portrayal of those stories is surely dependent on the script.

She mentioned all the people who’ve entered the tunnel of love but come out alone and those who have never stepped foot in it, and said, “So many people haven’t found their true love or are still looking for it. There are many unmarried, divorced [and] widowed people in the world — don’t rule them out. Theirs is the true story of finding love!”

This was in response to Bukhari’s comments on her Instagram story, posted on Tuesday. She shared a shot from London Nahi Jaunga and wrote, “Very well-shot Nadeem Baig, [you have the] best direction. [The] cinematography [is] excellent, [the] actors are brilliant but sorry, [the] love story? Not going with Humayun’s age. People don’t fall in love at this age. [The] story is extremely weak. He should now take on more mature roles, this is just difficult to digest.”

A few hours later, the actor posted another story clarifying that she has nothing against Saeed — she loves him, in fact. She just feels “he can do much more than being a romantic hero”.
