Our top favourite lessons from Young Stunners and Pepsi's latest song 'Why Not Meri Jaan'
Getting your voice heard and recognised in the Pakistani music industry is no easy feat, while setting a new record by innovation is quite unheard of.
Within a few years' time, hip hop sensations, Talha Younus and Talha Anjum, have taken over the music scene in Pakistan by storm. Since the release of their first single in 2017, the Young Stunners have been ruling hearts and music charts alike.
The duo's journey of reaching over 750K followers on Youtube has been anything but easy.
We admit, for a long time the Pakistani music industry has been dominated by either romantic and classical Urdu songwriters or upbeat Punjabi tunes; Urdu rap music has only recently picked up pace.
In such uncertain times, two young teenage boys pursued their passion of producing rap music in Urdu for young people, like themselves, who enjoy rap music that isn't just fast paced but also meaningful.
Thus, they set out to bring change to the Pakistani musicscape through their own YouTube channel and dropping first single, 'Burger-e-Karachi', which became an instant hit due to its relatability factor.
Recently, the duo have collaborated with Pepsi to produce a unique rap song titled, Why Not Meri Jaan.
Our favourite lessons from the song
Here's a quick look at 3 major lessons the song has been creatively spreading:
Turn all your whys into why nots
..because why not
Aptly titled as 'Why Not Meri Jaan', the song stands as an intelligent attempt at inspiring the youth to leave all negativity behind and question whatever it is that stops them from moving forward and realising their dreams.
With this quirky rap duo highlighting their own struggles to make that point, we feel there's no better way to encourage others to break barriers other than bringing our own struggles to light.
Think outside the box
.. because why not
In more places than one, the song actively helps us realise the importance of changing our mindset and losing all that is bound to make us rethink our ability to achieve the goals we have set in life; after all it's the hustle that gets us to where we want to be in life.
We can be a lot of things but we choose to be us
.. because why not
Through use of a fun combination of cool visuals and able storytelling, the song is reminding us that we've all got one life and it is best if we value it by staying true to ourselves, instead of adopting ideals that society conditions us to chase after.
Through electrifying music, inspiring lyrics and melodious vocals, the song enumerates the various challenges and stereotypes the duo has faced to come this far, and we can't help but fall in love with how real and raw it all sounds.
In partnership with Pepsi Pakistan, the Young Stunners have created a buzz with this track that is bound to make you want to tap your feet and sing along.
Celebs, influencers, online as well as offline audiences are all in awe of how inspiring yet catchy the song is.
