Abhishek Bachchan undergoes surgery after 'freak accident' on film set

Bollywood actor Abhishek Bachchan recently sustained an injury to his right hand while shooting on the set of an upcoming film. He took to social media to share the news with his followers.

Abhishek posted a picture of himself with his arm bound in a sling. The actor can be seen giving a thumbs-up with his plastered hand as well. "Had a freak accident in Chennai on the set of my new film last Wednesday. Fractured my right hand. Needed surgery to fix it! So a quick trip back home to Mumbai," he wrote.

The actor continued the message on a positive note and relayed how he's back in Chennai to resume work post surgery. "Surgery done, all patched-up and casted. And now back in Chennai to resume work," he wrote.

Abhishek also told his followers about the quip his father — actor Amitabh Bachchan — made when he sustained the injury. "As they say, the show must go on! And as my father said, mard ko dard nahin hota (a man does not feel pain)! Okay it hurt a little," he wrote light-heartedly.

The actor thanked his followers for their kind wishes and the get-well-soon messages he received after the incident.
