Inside Adnan Siddiqui and Humayun Saeed's evening spent with Ertugrul's Abdur Rehman Alp
It may be a new year but the Ertugrul fever in Pakistan is as fresh as ever — with audiences, fans and even celebrities keeping the fervour alive through some friendly collaborations with one another.
While previously, the desire to meet stood still during lockdown times, now, fans are eager to know what's cooking as flight after flight lands from Istanbul to Pakistan.
Following the visit of lead star Engin Altan Duzayatan who made his way to the country contributing wholeheartedly towards his skyrocketing success, having accepted the invitation of a private business company, a Turkish delegation recently made its way to Pakistan.
Veteran actor Adnan Siddiqui who was part of the visit, shared glimpses of the wonderful evening full of fun on social media.
"The man in the middle stands tall in physical appearance and commands immense respect as an actor-star too. Abdur Rehman on-screen and real life Celal AL has won many hearts in Pakistan with his role of a valorous warrior who is distinct in actions and thoughts. We were no exception!" the Mere Paas Tum Ho star posted.
"Look at the grins on our faces! For the entire time he was in the room, it was bursting with an infectious joie de vivre. Didn’t feel like we were meeting him for the first time."
He also revealed his personal fan moment, excitedly.
"Though he says he’s fallen in love with Pakistan and our hospitality, I must tell you my friend, you have got two fans for life in megastar Mr Humayun Saeed and a fairly popular actor, yours truly."
Siddiqui then revealed "some candid and some posed" shots from the duo's meeting with the Turkish delegation that included producer of the famous Ottoman epic Diriliş: Ertuğrul, Mr Kamal Tekdin, our honourable ministers, Mr Shaheryar Afridi and Mr Shibili Faraz with Dr. Kashif Ansari of Ansari films.
Previously, Adnan himself developed an interest in the Ottoman Empire, making his way to explore Istanbul, keen to know more about the warriors and his roots as the chieftain descending from the Kayi tribe.
He had also shared pictures at lunch, exchanging gifts with who he said was one of the makers of the hit show, Dirilis Ertugrul.
