Clothing brand Sapphire donates fabric for face masks

Our fashion industry has really stepped up during this pandemic and looks like will continue to do so.

Veteran designer Maheen Khan recently took to Twitter to reveal another brand that is doing their part in these tough times; Sapphire, which donated its fabric for the production of masks.

Sapphire follows many other local brands who are doing their part; they had previously shared that the brand "has decided to donate protective kits to healthcare professionals, working tirelessly to serve this nation."

According to their Instagram post, "We believe it to be our responsibility to do whatever we can, in these dire times, to help our country go through this crisis. We are truly grateful to all workers on the front line, making us and the country cope up with times which are really uncertain. While we’re doing what is in our capacity, we urge you to play your part because only together we can beat this."

It's comforting to know that they're going beyond what they said by donating their fabric to other designers for their work too.

After Asim Jofa announced he'd be working on protective gear for medical professionals, many followed suit. One of those to join in earlier was Maheen, who got others such as as Deepak Perwani onboard as well.
