Pierce Brosnan fully supports a female Bond

James Bond wants a Jane Bond and we have proof.

With rumours abuzz that actor Lashana Lynch might be taking the baton from Daniel Craig as the next 007, Pierce Brosnan shared his enthusiastic support over the idea.

“Yes!" He said of the prospect of a female Bond. "I think we've watched the guys do it for the last 40 years, get out of the way, guys, and put a woman up there. I think it would be exhilarating, it would be exciting.”

Brosnan, who was the fifth actor to play Bond with four movies, did admit to being doubtful about it actually happening.

Referring to the producers he said, “I don't think that's going to happen with the Broccolis. I don't think that is going to happen under their watch."

Reminiscing about his own time as the suave agent he said, "James Bond has a certain significance and a deep pride. I will be asked about him until my dying days – it just goes with the territory. He's a beloved character"

"I was honored to play the role and I rejuvenated a franchise that had been dormant."
