Internet sensation Grumpy Cat passes away

The world's most famous cat and internet legend, Grumpy Cat has passed away.

The seven-year-old cat, real name Tardar Sauce became one of the internet’s first “petfluencers” after gaining fame online for her perpetual look of disdain launching an empire worth millions.

She died in the arms of her owner on Tuesday morning after complications from a urinary tract infection. “Some days are grumpier than others," wrote the family on social media:

Grumpy Cat first went viral back in 2012 thanks to her cranky expression and lived a life worth living: she travelled the world making television appearances, starred in her own Christmas film and even has her own wax figure at Madame Tussauds in San Francisco. Rest in peace, Grumpy.
