Rachel Viccaji talks about playing a cadet in Parwaaz Hai Junoon

Actor/singer Rachel Viccaji is making her film debut with Parwaaz Hai Junoon and she's excited to play a role that offered her something different as a female actor.

"I love acting. I've done theatre, I've directed plays, I've done musicals, but I've never done a film. So I thought of giving a it a shot," she said in conversation with Images, adding that when the opportunity to play Ujala, a cadet-in-training, came about, she snapped it up because "it's a different concept".

She said that acting in Parwaaz was interesting because they "got to shoot in [airforce] bases and different locations" and it helped to have a "fun group of actors" to share that experience with.

And it sounds like a real thrill. Viccaji shares that cast members were attacked by monkeys — a couple of actors got bit in Kalabagh — and frostbite was a very real danger in the icy Naltar valley.

"It was quite adventurous if you ask me," says Viccaji.

For her next project, though, she's going for something different and has signed on to play a small role in Asim Raza's upcoming rom-com Parey Hut Luv.

Her debut film Parwaaz Hai Junoon releases this Eid ul Azha.
