How to submit your video entry

1. Upload your video to Dropbox, WeTransfer or Google Drive folder.
2. Share the link to download the video to videocontest@dawn.com – the email should also include names of all participants, and a line stating that “The film has been produced following the rules and guidelines provided on the contest website, and consent is given to the organisers for owning all rights to the film”.
3. Wait for a confirmation email.

If your video is shortlisted as a finalist, you will receive a second email at a later stage.

If your video is not shortlisted, you will receive an email indicating so, after which you may publish the film on social media to compete in the #ItHappensOnlyInPakistan social media contest.

How to participate in the social media contest

If you think developing a full fledged documentary is hard work, you can compete for our social media prizes!

What's more, you can even enter this category of the competition with photo entries.

All you need to do is upload your video or photo to any one of your personal social account (Facebook, Twitter or Instagram) on a public setting and tag it with #ItHappensOnlyInPakistan.

Our panel of judges will pick two winners and each will win prize money worth Rs.50k.
