Varun Dhawan gets in trouble with Mumbai police after taking selfie

No matter who you are, Big Boss is always watching you!

And by that we mean the traffic police, and any and everyone who doesn't abide by traffic laws... even if you happen to be Varun Dhawan taking a selfie on the busy roads of Mumbai.

The Judwaa 2 actor got a challan this morning in his email after the social media-savvy Mumbai police spotted him clicking a selfie with a fan while both were in their own cars.

Must be a great day for the fan but the Mumbai police was less than pleased. In its message, they called out the actor for risking his life, his "admirer's and few others".

"These adventures surely work on the silver screen but certainly not on the roads of Mumbai!" the tweet said. "We expect better from a responsible Mumbaikar and a youth icon like you! An e-Challan is on the way to your home."

"Next time, we will be harsher," the police warned.

Varun was quick to respond with an apology, acknowledging the safety hazard like a true hero, and explaining that he didn't want to "hurt the sentiment of a fan" but he won't encourage this.

Mumbai police then applauded the actor for taking the message in the "right spirit", saying that his gesture was admittedly made with good intent but was risky nevertheless.

"Leaning out even in a stationary vehicle can be distracting for others considering your popularity," the police said in the tweet.

Given his star power, Varun's compliant attitude to the entire selfie fiasco is a lesson... he's definitely living up to the title of Student of the Year !
