Angelina Jolie confirms she's returning to acting
It looks like Angelina Jolie is ready to make her comeback in front of the camera.
Talking to Hollywood Reporter, Jolie shared that she plans to return to work after taking "over a year off" to deal with a complicated "family situation" following her split with Brad Pitt.
Speaking at the Telluride Film Festival, where her new movie about Cambodia, First They Killed My Father had it's debut, the actress turned director revealed, “Right now, I don’t have anything to direct that I feel passionate about like [First They Killed My Father], so I’ll do some acting."
So what will we see her in next?
“Maleficent, we’re working on, most likely. And I look forward to having some fun with that,” she said. “Cleopatra, there is a script. There’s a lot of different things floating around. But I haven’t committed.” (Jolie has long been considering starring in a movie based on Stacy Schiff’s bestselling 2010 biography of Cleopatra, though the project has been much-delayed.)
Though it seems that her end game might be staying behind the lens after all, or at least that's what she hopes.
"At some point, I'll probably just direct. If I'm allowed to. But you just don't know if you can have a career as a director. You don't know how things are going to be received."
