This new picture-book will make you grateful for the little joys of Pakistani life

Ruqayya Diwan Adamjee's debut book just might be the perfect pick-me-up for times when you really need one.

A reminder of the little joys in life, the book titled 'Choti Choti Khushiyan' is a compilation of illustrations of oft-ignored blessings like gari mein fit aana (being able to squish in one car) and airport peh poora khandaan (a big welcome party at the airport).

The book also marks the launch of publishing house Markings' new platform Markings KHUDI, which will put out motivational, inspirational and developmental works.

“I hope my book reminds people to cherish the small happy moments instead of waiting for larger significant events," said the author Ruqayya Diwan Adamjee. "Although Pakistan is a linguistically diverse country, I chose Urdu because I feel it captures the essence of these Choti Choti Khushiyan in the most universally identifiable way for Pakistanis.”

Markings publisher Kiran Aman said, "We are delighted to share our first Illustrated Urdu book #ChotiChotiKhushiyan! – a fun and relatable look into the small things that make life pleasurable. Markings KHUDI will reflect an eclectic assortment of interests in its publishing focus: self-improvement, mind-body-spirit, inspiration, health & healing, development, spirituality and lifestyle. And most importantly, each title will be published in Urdu and Roman Urdu.”
