What is Coldplay doing in India now?

British rock band Coldplay will play their first-ever show in India in a free performance as the anti-poverty Global Citizen Festival on Friday announced an expansion.

The festival, which distributes tickets in return for individual actions to fight extreme poverty, said it would release further details Monday.

However, after rumours that the show tickets are priced at minimum INR25,000, Indians took to Twitter to show their utter disappointment with hilarious tweets.

Earlier this year, Indians called out Coldplay's use of India as a backdrop for their single 'Hymn For The Weekend'.

The inclusion of their religious festival Holi in the music video and showing Beyoncé in a matha patti, prompted many to point fingers at the rock band and accuse them of cultural appropriation.

But it seems like all has long been forgotten as fans across the border gear up to attend Coldplay's performance on November 19.
