What to wear: We're head over heels for knee-high boots

Winter is coming and it's time to step up your footwear game. As the temperature drops, our focus is shifting from mandals and peep-toes to boots. While ankle boots are still hot, we have our sights set a little higher.

We knew we were on the right track when we spotted Mahira Khan in her latest campaign for Pepe Jeans Pakistan rocking a pair of knee-high biker boots that we instantly fell in love with.

A black leather boot with a small chunky heel is a worthy investment; you could pair these with opaque tights and opt for a lightweight, flowy dress, like Khan has done, to give it a boho-feminine vibe or throw them on with skinny jeans, a turtleneck and a statement bag to look high street chic.

Whether you're going for a family lunch or just hitting the town with your girlfriends, these boots will be a versatile addition to your winter wardrobe which you can dress up or tone down. Remember that the key to keep knee-high leather kicks from looking too severe is to not show too much flesh.

In Pakistan, knee-high boots can be found at Pepe flagship stores (Lahore or Islamabad only, though!)

It's not only MK who loves boots; seen all over the catwalks, and gracing the legs of our favourite Bollywood and Hollywood celebs, it's clear that those girls love slaying in a lengthy boot!

If you're unsure about committing to the look, H&M and Forever 21 have some durable and affordable faux leather options. We're also lusting after the Shaw tall boots from Michael Kors and riding boots from Tory Burch but we just can't wrap our heads around forking out over $300 when it's only cold 3-4 months out of the year in Pakistan.

Zara booties are only slightly more expensive than Pepe at around $180 but also of excellent quality.

In terms of what's easily available in Pakistan, Pepe seems to be the only contender so far. As they retail for Rs. 14,500, the price tag is a little steep — but then it's a one time splurge on an item that will be trendy for, well, forever.
