Morning commuters in Mumbai get a treat as Bachchan senior takes the train

What are the chances of finding a superstar like Amitabh Bachchan taking public transport?

Not that slim, it seems!

Saurabh Nimbkar is regularly spotted on the local trains in Mumbai. He strums his guitar and belts out tunes while commuting, all to raise money for cancer patients. However, on Sunday, Saurabh got the shock of his life during his usual commute, along with many other passengers; Big B showed up on the train to prove that stars... they're are just like us.

Saurabh, who lost his mother to cancer, recently appeared on Aaj Ki Raat Hai Zindagi, a show hosted by Bachchan that chronicles inspiring stories of seemingly ordinary people.

Pictures and videos of the veteran actor singing Rang Barse alongside the young musician started popping up on social media.

The Sholay star wrote more about the experience on his blog sharing, “Saurabh Nimbkar, sitting to my left in the picture, that came on our show #AKRHZ plays the guitar and sings on local trains and collects the meager money he gets from co-passengers, to distribute to the less fortunate cancer patients and their families, in the city. His story was heart breaking... I felt I would want to sit by him and travel the distance he does, do what he does."

He added, that his intention was not to gain publicity: "The idea is not to create a splash among the media, or to create credible content for them, or for the subsequent promotion of the show; the idea is to let him know that he is not alone, that he is appreciated, that our support runs even after he departs from the show."
