Parineeti Chopra's 'eat less' comment lands her in trouble on Twitter

The actor's joke with a friend has been blown out of proportion by some who didn't think it was funny

Obnoxious comments and best friends go hand-in-hand, but for some Twitteratis, this doesn't hold true.

A few days ago Parineeti Chopra wished her best friend on his birthday via a Twitter video. Alia Bhatt also joined in and sent love and birthday greetings his way. But one comment of Parineeti's, "Eat less please, become thin" didn't go down well with audiences as they lashed out on social media.

What was meant as a joke to a friend has now snowballed into an issue, where the Ishaqzaade actor has been called our for fat shaming.

People didn't think her joke was funny.

Others think she needs to see a shrink.

Others are calling her fake.

Apparently her comment makes her obnoxious too.

But all hope is not lost. One fan defended the actor saying the comment was meant in good humour since it was between two best friends.

Conclusion: Be careful of what you say on Twitter.

@mishi you are right commenting on someone's body is not right, that is, when it is their body's natural shape. But people who choose to be fat, by eating a lot and not exercising, it is fair game!
