Malala and Asser Malik address ‘some very serious comments’ on their first wedding anniversary

The couple recorded a fun video of them reacting to what people had to say about their relationship.

Malala and Asser Malik have been married a whole year and with someone as highly regarded globally as her, speculations about her partner were bound to be made. The couple made a fun video of them reacting to comments left by other people and they discussed Malik’s name, his attractiveness and feminism, with a joke or two between the partners.

On Wednesday, they shared the video of them seated side by side captioned, “Some important news on our first anniversary.” They tried to enact a joint prank on the audience by trying to make it sound like what they were going to discuss was something serious. They started out strong, “There’s something really important we need to tell you” but soon their words stumbled and out came the bloopers, “we’ve been married for one year and on our anniversary-”, “’cause this is serious,” before they finally said that they want to address some comments.

Reading off a card, Malala said, “I can’t wait for everyone who, not wrongly, fancies Malala’s husband to say he isn’t worth sh*t when they find out he’s 5’7.” Correcting the person, Malik responded, “Guys, I’m 5’11, okay, 5’11.” Malala cheekily added, “But not 6.”

Malik read the next comment. “Paul Rudd is the sexiest man alive. Me and every woman I know: actually Malala’s husband,” he said. “People Magazine, if you’re listening,” he hinted at a feature as a magazine with him on the cover made its way across the screen.

Malala was looking forward to reading the next one and we see why. “Malala’s husband is so hot, I can’t believe growing up people said boys wouldn’t like you if you’re a feminist and then Malala said actually that’s not true,” she read, amused.

The next one could either have been a light roast or something wholesome — Malik decided to choose the latter. “Malala’s husband really is tagging along to all important events with her, taking pics must be so fun for him,” he paused before adding a matter-of-fact “yeah”.

The last one sought to alter Malik’s name as being married to Malala has become a huge part of his identity, especially where the public is concerned. “From now on can everyone refer to Malala’s husband as Malala’s husband or perhaps he can change his last name to Malala because I have forgotten his name already,” read Malala. “Guys I thought we were calling him Mr Malala,” she responded humorously.

The last one was Malik taking a playful dig at his wife. “This one might be the worst one yet,” he said before reading something no one but him could have written. “Why does Malala overpack her suitcases every single time and make her husband carry them?”

Half laughing she responded, “Stop it, stop making up [things]” while he also laughed before the video ended.

The couple tied the knot in November last year. Malik, the general manager of the PCB’s High Performance Centre, and Malala, the Nobel laureate, had a small nikkah ceremony at the Yousafzai residence in Birmingham. She took to social media to post pictures from the nikkah, calling it a “precious day in my life”.

"Nobel Peace Prize" is a political nomination, nothing to do with achievements. Can't we get rid if propped up celebrities. We have ships load of them.

She simply got lucky, for being at the wrong place, but at the right time, when a benevolent Pakistani President, decided to have her flown to the UK for medical treatment - at public expense, while millions of sick and destitute in Pakistan cannot even get adequate local medical treatment. She never looked back. She has not even visited her own village of Swat ever since she landed in the UK. but enjoys the celebrity pomp and circumstances, wealth due to her fame, fortune due to book and ad deals, generosity of the UK government ,but has done little to benefit Pakistan or people in her native community. Her recent visit to flood-affected areas in Sindh was a quick dash for photo-ops and publicity stunt., nothing else, while she likes to be treated like a Queen and aspires to follow into Hollywood! Good luck and enjoy! Because fame and fortune doesn't last forever. It can buy you things, but not true happiness.

Everyone should leave the couple alone. They are being nice to public and fans, so be nice back or just keep quiet.

The remarkable thing about Malala and all the fuss she makes, is that she was awarded Noble Prize without actually creating anything or making a difference in the world - but for being a poor girl from a village in Pakistan and being shot by the Taliban radicals. Thousands of other, more illustrious, genius and very talented and exalted people before her have been awarded the same prize, for break through research, discoveries in sciences, medicine, and many other fields, who are high-acclaimed faculties at some top universities around the world or working in the private sector to deliver on their ideas. Yet not a single one of these laureates have even tried to capitalize on their honor of Noble Prize, like the commercialized doll called Malala, who wants to be in the news, seen with celebrities, and aspires for bling bling of Hollywood! Too much glitz and glamour around her, and not much humility, results and tangible change she advocated, but has not delivered.

Nobel prize has always been a political tool and never an objective prise for the most deserving candidates. If anything there were plenty of well spoken girls who lost their entire families in American drone attack in Waziristan and who had courage to present their case for the White House. Did we even hear about them?

First of all NO ONE CARES. Second of all, Malala lost her childhood in hospitals and wasn't sure what to relate to and where to fit. Her father, who always used any opportunity right, cleverly let her wed this guy, as per tradition, which would keep daughter on the right path. And last but not the least, staying in the news and making connection with upcoming generation will lead to her actual role for which the West selected her. Just like Imran, she has to make connections with the ones Imran was not able to do. Long term plan of taking over future generations of Pakistan in a decade.

I'm so triggered whenever a news of this over rated girl comes up, now another useless news about her life as if people really care. Whatever she is doing in the name of girls' education is serving her more than those under privileged girls.

Yes, let her be. Why comment only on her; not to forget Mr. Obama who was given this Nobel Peace Prize for wrecking peace in many countries, ravaging their citizens' lives, and bringing to them death and destruction. Its an adornment of some sort.
