Actors Ahsan Khan and Ayesha Omar started shooting film Rehbra in 2016 and after years of delays and reshoots, the first teaser is finally here.

The lead actors posted the trailer on their Instagram pages on April 2, not long after sharing the film poster. The trailer launch is scheduled for Eidul Fitr and the film will release on June 24.

"Presenting the first teaser for our baby Rehbra: a rom-com action flick, taking through trains, into cities and villages, depicting life as we know it," Omar captioned her post. Addressing her followers, the Bulbulay actor added that she and the entire cast, crew and team are "over the moon to share the fruit of our hard work and love with all of you soon!"

In the video, Khan and other actors can be seen riding speedboats and horses, and engaging in a good old fight — an action trifecta, if you will. It also features Omar running to Khan and a sweet embrace to remind viewers the film is primarily a rom-com.

Khan also posted the teaser on his Instagram captioned, "Expect the unexpected — life is full of wonderful things just waiting to surprise you." The Qissa Meherbano Ka actor added "in cinema here and there," at the end, referring to an interview of his that's currently trending as a meme.

The actors had shared the film poster a day before the release of the teaser. Khan wrote, "Yes it’s coming soon. Feature film Rehbra [is] a highly entertaining rom-com action packed film with Ayesha Omar, Saba Faisal and many stars. The film has been directed by the super talented Amin Iqbal and produced by Saira Afzal."

In a conversation with Images in 2016, Omar described the rom-com action flick as "a love story with a twist". In 2020, Khan told Images the film was 95 per cent done and there were some schedule clashes that him and Omar were trying to work with. He shared that "at the heart of it, it's a romance flick with a sweet soundtrack," revealing his personal favourites to be the title song and a ballad by Rahat Fateh Ali Khan.

The Aangan actor also said the team went all over the country to shoot the songs — from Kund Malir and Gwadar to Kasur, Lahore and Karachi.

Hope it also doesn’t get banned since someone finds it against our cultural values
