There's some exciting news Karachiites! The first show of Aleph Alive — a live concert series featuring "the best of Pakistan's new wave of bands and artists" is set to take place soon, promising performances by Junaid Khan, Karakoram, Malang Party and Takatak. Talk about a killer lineup.

The concert series will be produced by A for Aleph Records that aims to "reinvigorate Pakistan's music industry" and has a "music curation, recording, rehearsal and production facility" in Karachi.

The concert will take place at the Arts Council Amphitheatre on Saturday, January 22.

The lineup includes Djent/metal band from Lahore — Takatak. According to Aleph Alive's social media, "their debut album Acrophase was voted the best debut metal album in the world in 2020 by readers of Metal Injection, one of the world's leading publications for the genre".

Next up, we have Karakoram, "an alternative rock band from Lahore" that will also be seen in Coke Studio 's upcoming season 14 this year, according to Aleph Alive.

Folks will have a chance to rock out to Islamabad-based pop-rock trio Malang Party as well. You may remember them from Coke Studio's season 8 that aired in 2015. The band is all set to play music from their debut album Ziyarat at the concert.

Last but not the least, the lineup has Junaid Khan. According to Aleph Alive, "the actor, singer & songwriter will be playing his first show after some time with his band CALL. He has been releasing music as a solo artist and will be performing his first solo set with all of his originals".

Aleph Alive not only promises a great lineup, but also a "concert culture that is safe and inclusive for everyone" by taking strict action against "any form of sexual harassment, nor any discriminatory acts".

The tickets for the concert can be purchased here.
