Actors Minal Khan and Ahsan Mohsin Akram have finally tied the knot. Photos from their nikah ceremony flooded social media and we've gathered all the details from the event to satisfy your curiosities

The highly anticipated nikah between Minal and Akram happened on Friday night. The couple officially tied the knot during a ceremony attended by family, friends and some big names in the entertainment industry.

The evening started with Minal giving us a look at her mehndi before the event began, and might we just say that's some skilful mehndi application.

We saw Minal's twin sister and fellow actor AIman Khan with her husband Muneeb Butt posing for the camera. Aiman wore a beautiful light beige outfit complemented by an orange dupatta.

Aiman's daughter Amal had brought a special plus one to the occasion.

We fell in love with these custom cookies served at the event, decorated with the bride and groom's initials.

Minal finally arrived and made her entrance to Elvis Presley's 'Can't Help Falling in Love'. That's quite the departure from the Bollywood songs people usually opt for during the bride's entrance.

The groom stuck to Bollywood though, making a jovial entrance surrounded by his loved ones.

The night soon took an emotional turn. Aiman couldn't help but get teary-eyed when the couple began to sign their nikahnama. If that isn't some special sisterly love then what is?

Minal got teary-eyed at her big moment as well. Ikram dabbing her tears away with a tissue was a gesture that melted our hearts.

Minal's gorgeous red dress was designed by Annus Abrar. The ensemble was paired up with jewellery from Ali Javeri Jewellers.

Ikram's outfit was by Ismail Farid.

The celebrities on the guest list included those who'd attended the mayun as well. Here's actor Saboor Aly with fiancé Ali Ansari.

Model Amna Ilyas made an appearance too.

And so did actors Areeba Habib and Kinza Hashmi

Celebrity couple Yasir Nawaz and Nida Yasir were spotted posing for the camera.

Oh look! Actors Iqra Aziz and Yasir Hussain also came to cheer the couple on.

As the event came to a close, the bride bid her family and friends adieu. The moment was made complete by Aiman teasing Minal, as any sister would of course.

We wish the newlyweds the best of luck for their new adventure ahead.

Any reason to cover such extravagant weddings?. We should discourage such events where money is flowing like water. We are a poor country where millions of young girls will watch such events and they will wish to have one like that but they will never be able to afford this. Also where are our Islamic values now?. Islam teaches us to propagate simplicity and here the opposite is happening right now.

@Citizen - "You want to see real wedding? Watch hindu weddings, it is a week long affair." So, Hindu weddings are even more waste of time and money than Pakistani weddings.
