The special edition doll is dressed in the musician's signature jumpsuit.

Barbie is celebrating the "King of Rock and Roll," Elvis Presley, with a collectible doll.

The female doll made by Mattel Inc is dressed in Presley's "American Eagle" jumpsuit, which features colourful rhinestones, a cape and a red scarf. Presley wore the jumpsuit during numerous concert appearances.

Elvis' first RCA single, 'Heartbreak Hotel,' was released in 1956 and became the first Elvis single to sell over 1 million copies, followed by his first album, Elvis Presley, which went to No. 1 on Billboard's pop album chart.

In 1973 Elvis made television and entertainment history with his Elvis: Aloha from Hawaii via Satellite. It was the first, worldwide live satellite broadcast of a concert and seen in about 40 countries by one billion to 1.5 billion people.

Presley died Aug. 16, 1977 at his Graceland home in Memphis, Tennessee.

Mattel infused with wokeism at its worst! For crying out loud, Elvis was a male, not some new-age gender-bender. If they are so keen on having female representation, they have done a grave disservice to a legion of wonderful women performers worthy of representation by a doll.

@Inquisitor I agree if barbie is going to celebrate Elvis then why not do a male doll. They could have had Ken dress up as Elvis if it was just dressing the part.

@Inquisitor, Well said @Inquisitor, I think Mattel was trying to pull off. ( like it's Full Circle ) idea. But why not put a cute SKIRT on Barbie styled with a Elvis Touch like ( American Eagle ) OR maybe what you mentioned another super star

This is not a tribute, it's an insult.

This is not a tribute, it's in bad taste. The could have done something from the "68" Special. Perhaps, the leather suit, or, the white suite which he sang his tribute to MLK.
