Kangana Ranaut defends the queen against Harry, Meghan's 'saas bahu sazish stuff'

Being a 'great queen' excuses her not being an ideal grandmother-in-law, Ranaut believes.
13 Mar, 2021

Known for her unconventional opinions and controversial statements more than her acting portfolio, Indian actor Kangana Ranaut never shies away from giving her opinion on something that is trending.

Recently, following Prince Harry and Meghan's explosive interview with Oprah Winfrey, the Tanu Weds Manu star took to social media to defend Queen Elizabeth, dismissing the situation as "saas, bahu, sazish type stuff." Who knew the queen needed Ranaut to come to her defence.

"For few past days, people gossiped, judged, online lynched a family based on one sided story at the cost of a family," she began. "I never saw the interview as saas, bahu, sajish type stuff never excites me. All I want to say is one woman the only ruling Monarch left on this globe may not be an ideal MIL/wife/sister, but she is a great Queen."

To clarify, Ranaut is not a British citizen and Queen Elizabeth is not her monarch. But fear not, Ranaut was quick to explain why she thinks the queen is great.

"She carried forward her father’s dream, saved the crown better than any son could have. We can’t play every role to perfection even if we excel at one, should be enough. She saved the crown. Let her retire like a Queen," she said.

Naturally, people called her out on her statement, saying her knowledge of history seemed limited to the television show The Crown.

Previously, in an interview that left Britain’s monarchy shaken, Meghan, who married Prince Harry in 2018, accused the royal family of rejecting her pleas for mental health support, following the racial and domestic trauma she suffered when she became part of their family.

The morning after the interview was aired, Piers Morgan said on Good Morning Britain, among a torrent of other criticisms, that he did not believe a word Meghan had said. Meghan and Harry then complained to broadcaster ITV.

“We can confirm receipt of a standards complaint made on behalf of the Duchess of Sussex,” a spokesman for Ofcom confirmed.

Most Indian, Pakistani and their children are still living mentally under British Raj to include this actress too. She is defending queen and her family being a psychologically subservient of royal family. What she know about a liberal and free life living in prejudiced India? Prince Harry and Magen told the realities of racism and hatred that British culture has. Sincerely

These drama queen and drama king manufacture pseudo news out of pure imagination because it keeps them on the limelight and well compensated. The drama queen is one-woman family destroyer, During the interview she proved herself to be a very good actress She complained that her son was not given the title of Prince because of he is biracial. But per Royal protocol, a great-grandson of the Queen is never given the title Prince unless he is the son of the heir to the throne which her son is not.

One may choose to agree, disagree or ignore what Kangana says, yet she has the right to express her opinion just as we all do. You cannot blame Kaqngana if the media picks up on things she says and prints it or broadcasts itto the whole world. By the way, her acting in that movie where she plays Rani Laxmibai of Jhansi fighting the British is unparalled, and she is all self made, had no one sponsoring her career. Please give credit where it is due. She is undoubtedly a great actress. Please give credit where it is due.

Talking about racism in the royal British family, during some big natural catastrophe where thosands or lakhs of people were killd in India, Prince Philip is repotd to have something to the effect like"It will help towards solving India's population problem. And during a famine in India Winston Churchill said "Why isn't Gandhi dead yet?" So there is racism in UK even at the highest levels, although normally kept concealed by sweeping it under the carpet.

@Ahsan Gul One person who made certain disparaging remarks and who is not a member of the immediate family doesn't make the entire royal family racist. By Meghan's own admission, the Queen was gracious and treated her very well. At her and Prince Harry's wedding there was an all-Black gospel choir, and a Black bishop from the US was one of the main celebrants at the church service, and all were very welcome and appreciated. What Meghan Markle said she experienced is regrettable, and certainly she did raise some very valid points. But it is also true that she was not really aware of how things function in that particular setting, and with all parties busy going about their own affairs, there was very likely no deliberate attempt to cause her pain or harm. Seems to be largely a lack of communication that is the cause. Kangana Ranaut speaking up in defence of the Queen under the circumstances was a very thoughtful gesture.

An attempt in futility to stay afloat, unnecessarily impress the Queen, look important, intrude the Buckingham Palace, rally support, get her U.K. visa application approved, solicit more contracts with English media houses, thumb her impression, uplift dwindling ratings and above all, remain in the powerful multimedia outlets.
