Family heirlooms etched in memory and carefully passed down to generations during weddings hit us right in the feels.

There's so many little things about desi weddings that make for sentimental stories — family heirlooms etched in memory and carefully passed down from generations on your big day has to be one of our favourite parts.

Bakhtawar Bhutto-Zardari, a week after her engagement ceremony to Mahmood Chaudhry, is now little by little revealing all the thought that went into planning her special day. Along with including a picture of her parents on the card, she made sure to get photographed besides a portrait of her late mother and former prime minister, Benazir Bhutto.

She also shared another detail on Instagram that we didn’t know about before, about what made Chaudhry's engagement ring so special.

"Its A Ring Story: my mother had her father’s wedding ring copied and made for my father when they got married - I had the same ring duplicated and made for Mahmood Chaudhry," she posted.

For their first photo as an engaged couple, the duo posed under a glorious pink bougainvillea tree, with Bhutto looking stunning in a bespoke outfit courtesy of Nida Azwer atelier.

While Chaudhry chose to go all-white on the occasion, Bakhtawar's tea pink dress paired with an ornately hand-worked shawl, was one to remember, embroidered with images of her past (her parents' wedding day, her grandmother, and her siblings playing in push-cars) on one side and her future (meeting her fiance, the proposal and her home and pet dog) on the other.

Surely, Bakhtawar has an eye for detail and a whole lot of love for her ancestors. We’re keeping our eyes peeled for their wedding festivities!

Unbelievable. Choosing to glorify disgusting details about feudals knowing full well where they have taken the poor of this country. Sick to the core.

i thought it is nostalgic because it was one of the Jewellery items that Benazir bought from ill gotten money in Switzerland.

All the best dear Bakhtawar for your future but I hope and prayer that you do not insist your husband to become like your father. Put a full stop to Family heirlooms here.
