Sindh minister Saeed Ghani shared visuals of 'clear thoroughfares' and Karachiites are not having it

Many on Twitter shamed the minister and some also accused him of misleading the public.
Updated 29 Aug, 2020

At least 19 people were killed as record torrential rains wrecked Karachi on Thursday. Major thoroughfares and roads in several parts of the city still remain submerged in water and many areas continue to face power outages.

However, as reports began to emerge of flooding, devastation and deaths from all across the city, provincial government minister from the Pakistan Peoples Party, Saeed Ghani, tweeted videos of what seemed to be thoroughfares clear of rainwater.

But Karachiites were not having it, with many on Twitter shaming the minister and some also accusing him of misleading users on the microblogging platform.

Lebanon style dystopian politicking, with the only skill being teflon non-stick deflection techniques rather than any conception of accountability. The whole political class is a waste of public resources, self service rather than public service.

What a grotesque way of throwing dirt in the eyes of the people of this city. Maybe you can befool poor people living in interior Sindh but it is impossible to dupe people who are suffering due to the epic failure of your party in managing the city.

People of Karachi are in distress and the city is in pathetic condition and Saeed Ghani goes out to search for some dry streets which probably took him a few hours to find and posts it in twitter and says there is nothing wrong with Karachi,"look all roads are clear and clean". It is because of this attitude that everything is "OK"that Karachi has suffered, it is these crook politicians who have screwed up Karachi and now they say that $10B would be required to fix the city so that they can loot and plunder again.

Karachi has never liked PPP and never will, the situation of Karachi will always remain the same because who so ever will rule will never be allowed to work, NDMA was given task of cleaning "Naalas" with unlimited resources at their disposal but couldn't do it no one dares to ask what did they do and where was NDMA in this whole disaster. showing only one side of the picture creates polarization.
