Hadiqa Kiani's ode to Kashmir gets taken down by Youtube

The song Daimi Bahar (translating to Eternal Spring), was composed and co-sung by Turkish singer Ali Tolga.
Updated 16 Jul, 2020

Hadiqa Kiani's ode to Kashmir, a song released in collaboration with Turkish artist Ali Tolga has been taken off by Youtube.

The singer took to Instagram to share the unfortunate news, revealing that they will stand determined against the forced silencing.

"Our tribute to Kashmir was removed from YouTube a few hours ago," she posted. "There seems to be a systematic silencing taking place but we will not be silenced because our message is of love and peace."

She also informed her followers that Kashmir Civitas, an international advocacy organisation devoted to the rights of the Kashmiris, was "actively working to re-upload the video."

'Daimi Bahar' featured visuals from both Turkey and Kashmir, including those of violence and protests that took place in the disputed territory.

This is very unfortunate. Though I am more interested in finding out whether her anger and the resultant resolve and passion to fight will be for her duet at the expense of Turkey or purely for Kashmir.

Why? What reason did they give? Usually it's copyright, or violation of their rules etc. It can't be because they disagree. YouTube is full of resistance videos. So this makes no sense..

Most online content providers such as Youtube is owned by big IT bigwigs where Indians dominates. It is high time that we invest and build Pakistani IITs in all cities in Pakistan and provide quality IT educations to our youths to equip them to compete and participate in the changing economic environment. IT and automation will lead the modern world. Hope someone in Pakistan establishment become wise enough to understand the importance of what is stated above.

It says the removal is because of copyright issues, not because of content issue. At least one should read the message before complaining.
