Get ready for some endorphins because there is a Legally Blonde 3 officially in the making!
That's right, the 2001 flick is getting a third installment. And you read that right, 2001. The movie is 19 years old. It's been that long.
Reese Witherspoon took to Instagram to share the exciting news that she indeed is returning as our favourite lawyer in pink.
"Great news alert! Some things are just meant to be! I’m so excited to have Mindy Kaling and Dan Goor writing Legally Blonde 3! This is Elle Woods approved!" the star posted.
That's right! The film has roped in Mindy Kaling to work on the script alongside Brooklyn Nine-Nine co-creator Dan Goor.
In case you're wondering what to expect, Witherspoon revealed to Hollywood Reporter that the film will be "So much fun. So full of fashion. So full of awesome feminist ideas."
She went on to say, "It will be global. It will have animals. It will have returning cast members. We just need to film it first. But that's my hope and dream for Legally Blonde 3. It will be the return of Jennifer Coolidge, which is the greatest."
While the pre-production was supposed to start in May 2020, with the coronavirus pandemic there is no official release date as yet.
