Even Cynthia D. Ritchie agrees with Mehwish Hayat about our airport bathrooms

"The authorities need to ensure all Pakistani airports are clean and in proper working order," she said.

Mehwish Hayat's tweet about the bathrooms at Jinnah International Airport struck a chord with many.

People responded with their own terrible experiences and one of them happened to be self-proclaimed filmmaker/writer, Cynthia D Ritchie, who mentioned having the same issue at Islamabad International Airport as well.

"Agree with Mehwish," writes Cynthia. "I just returned from Karachi Airport - it was dirty. But so was Islamabad with broken washroom fixtures."

"The authorities need to ensure all Pakistani airports are clean and in proper working order, and in consideration for local and international tourists!"

Mehwish Hayat quickly responded, saying, "I think that the ladies’ room facilities at our airports are outdated and in very bad condition. In all honesty, they need to be renovated and brought up to date."

She added, "This is the first impression many people will have of our beautiful country - lets make it a good one!"

@Pak-uk Well, our government needs this immediately if they also have to promote tourism. Look at what airport Turkey has built recently.

We have a couple of bathrooms for each " floor " of high rise office buildings in USA but always Sooper clean. On the contrary, each office with its own bathroom and even that's not usable in Karachi office buildings. Agree?

"People responded with their own terrible experiences and one of them happened to be self-proclaimed filmmaker/writer, Cynthia D Ritchie, who mentioned having the same issue at Islamabad International Airport as well." So many people (presumably Pakistani) responded with their own experiences, but you chose to publish only the view of white American Cynthia Ritchie. And then you spend the rest of your time lecturing others for having a gorah complex?

Yup, Islamabad airport toilets are in poor state. The grouting is poor, fixtures and fittings broken

Washrooms r very dirty throughout Pakistan. This is the reason I hate tavelling.. But I think people should learn something too. They don't even bother to flush the toilet. I wonder if they do the same in their homes.
