This woman slapped an old man sexually harassing her on a bus and people are here for it

The man's actions only came to light when he tried to remove her dupatta and grab her by force.
Updated 27 Sep, 2019

A video emerged on social media on Thursday showing a woman irately slapping an old man and asking him to apologise on a bus travelling from Multan to Islamabad.

The man had allegedly been surreptitiously touching the woman for nearly six hours, and his actions only came to light when he attempted to remove her dupatta from her back and grab her body by force.

Due to a medical condition that numbed sensation in her back, the woman didn't realise sooner that she was essentially being assaulted.

A common experience on mass transit, the anonymous woman's reaction to the situation resonated with many who had been through something similar.

Many congratulated the woman in the video for standing up for herself, wishing they'd been able to do the same.

Many noted the silence of other passengers — and of those defending the man online or excusing his behaviour.

But surely a hobbit wouldn't do such a thing?

Just... so much love for this woman.

This lady deserves credit, and no one should stand for this. That man needed to be taught a good lesson and should perhaps have been kicked right off the bus. Public spaces are meant for EVERYONE. Such men deserve much, much more than just a slap. The fact that no one came to her defence is also appalling. The underlying issues that lead so many men to believe that the sight of a woman is an invitation for some form of sexual activity really need to be addressed. So many stories like this also serve to scare away potential tourists.

What woman did is the only way to discourage harassment. Besides woman should also call the police on the spot and file a report and sue him and the transport company for this incident. Then lets see how much our laws protect our daughters, mothers, and sisters.

I felt bad for this old man. But then I realized, regardless of his old age & big beard, what he did was despicable & shaming these people is the only solution left in our society

I am not going to jump on conclusions. If he did he deserved this treatment. My concern the passenger next to him. If he saw that guy touching inappropriate way , why don't he come forward to help her. Something not adding up.

So, I don’t see any comments here? Because it is common thing that happens in public transport; inappropriately touching women and children. That is why nobody said anything in that bus! Because either most men on that bus experienced it as child on public transport or see this as a norm. The Disgusting man, garbage garbed in facial hair of piety.
