Disney's live-action reboot for The Little Mermaid has found its Ariel

Disney's next live-action reboot will be of The Little Mermaid and we already have our lead.

Singer and actor, Haile Bailey has been roped in to play Ariel in the upcoming flick, which will be helmed by Mary Poppins Returns director, Rob Marshall.

Disney officially made the announcement about the casting:

Jacob Tremblay and Awkwafina have also been cast as Flounder and Scuttle according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Currently, Melissa McCarthy is in talks with Disney over being potentially cast as the sea-witch Ursula.

A release date hasn't been announced for the movie yet.

Oh no. Queue the racists demanding Ariel must be a redhaired irish girl. You know because we all know how acting is real life and so ethnicity must match. I wonder if they will make an issue of irish people not being mermaids. Mermaids are so hard to find....
