How did Bilal Khan become the most stylish male celeb on Instagram? We investigate

From grey hair to floral prints, his laidback style should be giving men some major inspo for that perfect summer look.

Bilal Khan's style tips are simple: "Be yourself, be confident and don't care about what people say".

We just had to know; he's has been serving up some eyebrow-raising looks on Instagram recently — in a good way! While most of our male celebs choose to stick to conventional (read: boring) looks, Khan isn't afraid of experimenting with his wardrobe (and hair!).

"I feel people should be more open to trying out new ideas instead of just sticking to basic stuff. I have a feeling we would be seeing mass adoption of the colorful bright shirts in Pakistan in coming days," shared Bilal in a chat with Images.

When I asked the 'Bachaana' singer about his style transformation, going from basic tees to neon jackets and floral button-downs, he said it was an "interesting observation" as if it wasn't totally obvious. But I realised it's because it's been such an effortless transition for him, drawing inspiration from his travels or the street style he spotted.

"I'm currently living in Montreal and the fashion sensibilities on the streets here are quite edgy which might be a subconscious source of inspiration I guess."

That wasn't enough. We wanted more information. I kept pressing.

"I think I got bored of the suave, dapper style that I had become associated with over the years and especially after playing the character of Shahram on Khamoshi. I really enjoy experimenting, not just in fashion but even in things like the direction of my music or the color of my hair.

"I'm really open to embracing new ideas and sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn’t but if I like it I do it regardless of other people’s opinion. My Insta is popping right now with bright colors, whites, patterns, and crazy stuff because it makes me happy and lightens my mood. Plus its summer and my new music has that summer vibe. All of it fits together nicely."

In case you want to emulate Bilal's impeccable style, we also found out where he shops!

"In Pakistan, I bought some stuff from Levi's or jackets from Republic by Omar Farooq. My sister hand-painted a custom denim jacket for me which is one of my prized possessions and which set a nice tone for a shift in my style game. In Canada, it’s mostly Zara, Club Monaco, H&M, Gap etc. The brand is irrelevant for me. If it’s nice, I’d even order it from unusual sources like my recent pink Ketnipz hoodie."

I was still super curious to know how Bilal manages to get such cool photos and who his photographer is but he's keeping mum about that.

"That’s a mystery that a lot of people are trying to solve. A lot of my friends ask me, 'Who is this person who travels with you everywhere and takes all these photos?' It’s a valid question because I could be in London or Toronto or wherever but the mystery photographer is always there. I think I’ll let it be a mystery for now.

Seriously, we need some tie and dye shirts in our wardrobe now!

If you've been wondering if Bilal's returning to screens any time soon, we've got some bad news: "I didn’t sign any drama serials after Khamoshi as I wanted to focus solely on music. I think two drama serials are enough for me right now as I really want to focus on producing, recording and releasing tons of new music. Maybe after a while, I could try acting in another drama. I never expected to get recognition from doing television. It’s a pleasant surprise for me."

But fret not, Bilal's latest EP Go 4 It released today, which consists of four songs "all hand-made, self written, self produced and in English".

Why would you buy Levi's in Pakistan when it is fake and counterfeit? I dont get it. I would buy that if I was abroad so I get the real deal.

@Laila Not everything here is fake. stop badmouthing your own country. Levi's jeans are produced and sold in Pakistan by the company since ages . most branded stuff available is original and is brought in by re sellers or agents unless you are just cheap and buy fakes or 2nd hand from launda bazar

@Laila You seem to have the pathetic mentality of buying to show off. You dont think its worth wearing the original when others wear potential counterfeits. Sadly, you dont understand that you buy original for quality and not for the name. Who cares if its counterfeited? Also, you should know is that tons of Levis are actually made in Pakistan and bought be Levis through their contracted manufacturers. Hence all these people you think are wearing counterfeit are actually wearing grey mkt stock.

When will we start looking good in our traditional clothes?

@Laila It works the other way aswell. The 'fake and counterfeit' is actually Levis' suppliers; they just don't sell it with that brand logo. I've found Kelvin Klein stuff in places you would never think of at prices you wouldn't imagine. They manufacture these for cheap and by the time it finds it's place on a shelf in a fancy store in Europe its about 8 times the original cost. Who pockets most of the money? Your favorite brands!
